College fashion can now be budget friendly too. Some smart nips and tucks can make you a stunner. Here's a DIY guide on how to rock the look.
One of the biggest challenges that a student faces is the need to look fashionable in a limited budget. However, there is no need to break your head as AT offers you simple tips that can help you look fashionable everyday, by sticking to your budget.
Last season is vintage: Never throw away your last season's clothes, suggests fashion designer Bhavin Trivedi. "There is a myth that last season's clothes become obsolete the next season. Smartly mix-n-match last season and this season's ensemble to come up with a new style. Pair your patiala/loose pants/harems with a printed structured top/ganji and add a bold coloured printed scarf with jhola and jootis and you're ready for a day out. You can add some traditional jewellery that you use during Navratri for an ethnic touch," says Bhavin.
Designer Digvijay Singh says, "Both guys and girls can take an old fabric of unstitched pyjama cloth or linen cloth and get it stitched into a cool trouser or loose high waisted pant/palazzo and team it with a nice shirt, kolhapuri chappals and quirky accessories."
Seasonal pick: "One of the trickiest yet smartest way to style in budget is by mixing clothes of two different seasons. Girls can team a hot pant with a long sleeve shirt off-shouldered shirt or a thin cardigan, while guys can team a nice biker jacket or sleeveless jacket to a pair of fitted jeans and a printed/plain shirt. From old jeans shirt one can make a sleeveless vest or jacket to pep up the look." says Bhavin.
"Guys can be a little more experimental by wearing printed socks, coloured shoes or the ones with some quirky prints on it. Adding contrast in smart ways to your wardrobe and style always makes them noticeable. A nice scarf/stole adds elegance to your casual look," says stylist Neha Bhojani.
